Job summary

The Transport EMT at TCH Medical Center will operate in a dual role as an EMT transport team member and as a communication specialist in the Transport Center. You will perform routine and specialized patient care under RN/RRT supervision, in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include applying policies and protocols, documenting vital signs, and ensuring timely response to campus emergencies. EVOC/BLS and Texas EMT licenses are required, with dispatch skills preferred.

Qualifications

  • EVOC certification required.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
  • Texas DSHS EMT licenses required (EMT/EMT-B/EMT-I/EMT-A/EMT-P/Paramedic).
  • Dispatch skills highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care through policies, protocols and guidelines delegated by the RN or RRT within the EMT scope of practice.
  • Provides high quality patient care and customer service.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and physiological values using monitors; respond to alarms and notify the RN of abnormal findings.
  • Maintains HIPAA privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ensures timely response to campus emergencies by rapid deployment of the code response team in the Transport Center.
