Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston is seeking a Transport EMT to join our fast-paced Transport Center. You will perform routine and specialized patient care activities under the supervision of the RN or RRT, serving as an EMT transport team member and communications specialist.

Successful candidates hold EVOC and BLS certifications and Texas EMT licenses (EMT, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-A, EMT-P) withDispatch experience preferred.

Qualifications

• EVOC certification required.
• BLS - American Heart Association certification required.
• Texas EMT licenses (EMT, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-A, EMT-P) required or in process.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care through policies, protocols and guidelines delegated by the RN or RRT within the EMT scope of practice
• Provide high quality patient care and customer service
• Obtain and document vital signs and physiological values using appropriate monitors; respond to alarms and notify the RN of abnormal findings
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy per HIPAA laws
• Ensure timely response to campus emergencies by rapid/accurate deployment of the code response team in the Transport Center
