Job summary

UNC Health Care’s Transplant 5 West unit in Chapel Hill is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide competent clinical nursing care in a 36-hour weekly schedule (12-hour shifts) for abdominal transplant, urology, and plastic surgery patients. The role reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and emphasizes evidence-based care with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and families about care needs and treatments.
• Evaluates care and updates plans with interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinates care and prioritizes tasks for complex cases.
• Participates in unit goals and performance improvement activities.
