Labela is seeking U.S.-based transplant surgeons to serve as clinical consultants for AI safety and accuracy. The role is fully remote with flexible, project-based hours designed to fit around medical training or clinical duties.

Engagement runs July 30 to August 31, 2026, prioritizing candidates in Texas while remote across the United States. Ideal candidates are board-certified/eligible in surgery (ABS) with 2+ years of postgraduate training, currently in or having completed senior residency

Overview

Labela is seeking U.S.-based Transplant Surgeons at every career stage, from board-certified attendings and fellows to senior residents (PGY-2 and above), for high-level clinical consulting. You will serve as a subject matter expert to validate, refine, and audit the clinical reasoning of frontier AI models. This is a flexible, remote role designed to let clinicians influence the safety and accuracy of medical AI at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Logic Auditing: Review and refine AI-generated diagnostic and treatment strategies to ensure alignment with ASTS/ACS standards.
• High-Complexity Validation: Provide expert-level ground truth for intricate transplant surgical case presentations, donor/recipient assessment, and surgical candidacy.
• Safety Oversight: Identify clinical inaccuracies or hallucinations in AI outputs that could impact patient safety or triage decisions.
• Strategic Consulting: Advise on the development of AI-driven clinical decision support tools for transplant surgical care.

Qualifications

• Credentials: Board-certified or board-eligible in Surgery (ABS), or a current senior resident or fellow (PGY-2 or above) training in the field.
• Experience: 2+ years of postgraduate clinical training. Established attendings and senior trainees are equally welcome.
• Citizenship: Must be based in the United States.
• Communication: Ability to provide concise, technical feedback on complex clinical cases.
