Job summary

Labela is seeking U.S.-based transplant surgeons at every career stage for a flexible, remote role focused on validating and auditing AI-driven clinical reasoning in transplant surgery. You will act as a subject matter expert to align AI outputs with ASTS/ACS standards and ensure safety in patient care.

The engagement is project-based, runs July 30 to August 31, 2026, and prioritizes candidates in California while remaining fully remote across the United States.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of postgraduate clinical training.
• United States citizenship is required.

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Surgery (ABS) or current senior resident/fellow (PGY-2+).

Overview

Labela is seeking U.S.-based Transplant Surgeons at every career stage, from board-certified attendings and fellows to senior residents (PGY-2 and above), for high-level clinical consulting. You will serve as a subject matter expert to validate, refine, and audit the clinical reasoning of frontier AI models. This is a flexible, remote role designed to let clinicians influence the safety and accuracy of medical AI at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Logic Auditing: Review and refine AI-generated diagnostic and treatment strategies to ensure alignment with ASTS/ACS standards.
• High-Complexity Validation: Provide expert-level ground truth for intricate transplant surgical case presentations, donor/recipient assessment, and surgical candidacy.
• Safety Oversight: Identify clinical inaccuracies or hallucinations in AI outputs that could impact patient safety or triage decisions.
• Strategic Consulting: Advise on the development of AI-driven clinical decision support tools for transplant surgical care.

Qualifications

• Credentials: Board-certified or board-eligible in Surgery (ABS), or a current senior resident or fellow (PGY-2 or above) training in the field.
• Experience: 2+ years of postgraduate clinical training. Established attendings and senior trainees are equally welcome.
• Citizenship: Must be based in the United States.
• Communication: Ability to provide concise, technical feedback on complex clinical cases.
