Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Physician Assistant is required; Masters preferred.
• New York State Nurse/NP/PA License with current registration.
• Progressive job related experience in area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates multidisciplinary screening and evaluation of transplant patients.
• Ensures lab tests are performed and results updated for transplant candidates.
• Educates patients on transplant processes, medications, and living donation when applicable.
• Communicates waiting list status to patients and ensures medical clearances are current.
• On-call responsibilities include facilitating organ offers and after-hours patient contacts.
• Follows patients during hospitalization and coordinates outpatient follow-up.
• Educates families on medications and outpatient protocols.
• Assesses recovery through outpatient visits and lab reviews, adjusting immunosuppressants as needed.
