Job summary

You will work with surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, social work, nutrition, pharmacy and finance to screen, evaluate, and manage transplant patients.

The role requires an RN license in New York, a BSN, and progressive transplant experience; a Master’s and specialty certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• The Mount Sinai Nursing program requires a Bachelor’s or higher in Nursing.
• Masters and specialty certification are preferred.
• Current NYS RN licensure is required.
• Progressive experience in transplant or related clinical areas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary screening and evaluation for transplant patients.
• Ensure lab tests are performed and results updated for potential candidates.
• Advise on waiting list placement and living donation education.
• Maintain ongoing communication with candidates regarding wait list status.
• Participate in on-call organ offers alongside surgical teams.
• Coordinate inpatient to outpatient transitions and follow-up visits.
• Educate patients and families on transplant medications and care protocols.
• Monitor recovery and adjust immunosuppressive therapy during labs.
