Job summary

UPMC Presby in Pittsburgh, PA invites applications for an academic-track transplant pathologist to serve as Assistant or Associate Professor and Assistant or Associate Director of the Histocompatibility Laboratory. The role encompasses clinical oversight of the HLA Lab for solid organ and bone marrow transplant programs across the UPMC system and partner hospitals.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD degree required with board certification/eligibility in ACHI.
• Current PA medical licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight of the HLA Lab for all transplant programs.
• Review test protocols and participate in quality assurance, QC, and proficiency testing.
• Consult with physicians on test interpretation and post-intervention planning; assist in inspections and accreditation.
• Engage in education of Pathology Residents and Clinical Fellows; promote translational research.
• Rotate with Lab Director to provide 24/7 on-call telemedicine coverage for transplant services.
