Job summary

UPMC Presby in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an academic-track faculty member for the Histocompatibility Laboratory to serve as Assistant/Associate Professor and Director-level support. The role includes clinical oversight for HLA testing and active involvement in education, translational research, and telemedicine coverage.

The candidate should hold an MD or PhD, be board-certified/eligible in ACHI criteria, and have experience in a high-complexity ASHI-certified lab supporting solid organ and bone

Qualifications

• M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree required; board-certified/eligible as HLA lab director by ACHI.
• Experience in a high-complexity ASHI-certified/eligible lab supporting transplants is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HLA Lab clinical operations and support the Lab Director in patient management.
• Review test protocols and QC/QA, and participate in proficiency testing.
• Advise physicians on test interpretation and prepare for inspections/ accreditation.
