Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a qualified individual to plan and implement transplantation and living donation activities, including organ offers and renal pulsatile perfusion management.

The role requires an Associates Degree and two years of medical experience in organ/tissue transplantation or nursing. You will schedule PM shifts and ensure strict protocol adherence in a high-stakes medical setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical experience including organ/tissue transplantation and/or donations, or nursing experience.
• Proficient with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
• Detail oriented with meticulous planning and organizational skills while balancing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a liaison to transplant center clients in donation services area.
• Registers potential recipients to the national waiting list for transplant in accordance with federal policy.
• Coordinates the surgical recovery, allocation and transport of transplantable organs.
• Arranges non-transplantable surgical services for non-transplant surgeries and scheduled living donor cases.
• Completes all documentation, communication and data entry to ensure compliance with federal transplant and donation regulatory requirements.
• Performs pulsatile perfusion on donated organ recovered for transplantation.
• Medication and Blood Product Administration: administer protocol medications and blood products to organ perfusion machines.
• Perfusion Monitoring: monitor perfusion parameters and address issues.
• Machine Operation: operate and maintain perfusion machines.
• Protocol Adherence: adhere to perfusion protocols.
• Data Recording and Documentation: document procedures and perfusion parameters.
• Troubleshooting: identify and troubleshoot technical issues with perfusion machines.
• Quality Assurance: contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
