Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Night Shift Transplant Services Technician to plan and implement donation-related activities, coordinate organ recovery and transport, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes liaison duties, patient follow-up and meticulous data entry.

The incumbent will perform pulsatile perfusion, monitor perfusion parameters, and support non-transplant services when needed. This is an hourly position with weekend and holiday coverage requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical experience in organ/tissue transplantation or nursing, or equivalent.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and MS Office required.
• Detail-oriented with strong planning and organizational skills while balancing priorities.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison to transplant center clients in donation services.
• Register potential recipients to the national waiting list for transplant per policy.
• Coordinate surgical recovery, allocation and transport of transplantable organs.
• Arrange non-transplantable services for non-transplant surgeries and living donor cases.
• Document procedures, medications and perfusion data to meet regulatory requirements.
• Operate and monitor pulsatile perfusion equipment for donated organs.
• Troubleshoot perfusion machines and contribute to quality improvement.
