Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3 years of experience in a medical setting.
• Proficiency with a computer and data entry for patient information.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
• AHA Basic Life Support is required upon hire.
• CMA/NCMA/RMA certifications required upon hire in PA.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to designated patients following hospital and department policies.
• Coordinates care for pre-transplant, post-transplant, living donor, and/or surgical patients.
• Reviews medical history and coordinates scheduling of medical testing; reviews test results.
• Coordinates and participates in education of transplant and/or surgical patients.
• Coordinates organ transplant with Organ Procurement Organization and medical staff.
• Develops and maintains data-management systems to meet requirements.
• Monitors patient lab results and maintains transplant waiting list.
• Maintains contact with transplant candidates to ensure care plan compliance.
• Monitors and audits patients' charts for CMS and UNOS compliance.
