Job summary

FAO Timor-Leste seeks an Enhanced Transparency Expert and BTR/NC3 Lead Consultant to provide senior technical coordination across the combined BTR1/NC3, ensure coherence with UNFCCC and ETF requirements, and support national validation processes. The assignment is home-based with missions to Dili as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in climate change transparency reporting.
• Experience with UNFCCC reporting, technical coordination and report integration.
• Working knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and integrate the combined BTR1/NC3 in line with UNFCCC/ETF.
• Coordinate national and international experts and maintain schedules and quality control.
• Guide on NDC tracking, mitigation policies, GHG projections and scenarios.
• Review non-inventory chapters, risk and vulnerability analyses, adaptation and loss/damage.
• Lead final report editing and prepare materials for national validation and clearance.
• Mentor national experts and conduct technical clinics on transparency reporting.
