Job summary

Massachusetts Water Resources Authority is seeking a Transmission and Treatment Operator to manage critical facilities, monitor SCADA, and adjust process controls during shifts. The role supports public water systems and environmental protection.

You will operate turbines, maintain equipment, and respond to alarms while working a 3:00pm–11:00pm Friday to Tuesday schedule at the Marlborough site. This position requires technical aptitude and commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience with water transmission and treatment systems or equivalent.
• Massachusetts Class D Driver's License or equivalent.
• Massachusetts Grade 2 Water Treatment license (OIT) or Grade 2 Water Distribution license (OIT).
• Completion of MWRA competency-based training within five months of appointment.
• Position designated essential during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain critical transmission and treatment facilities.
• Travel to facilities to perform operational changes or investigate alarms.
• Operate generators, switchgear and power feeders; monitor power shifts.
• Perform preventative maintenance on generators and turbines.
