Job summary

Impellam Group seeks a Project Manager II to lead transmission capital projects from initiation through closeout, coordinating with engineering, construction, operations, environmental, regulatory, and real estate teams to deliver safe, reliable results.

The role requires 6+ years of utility project management experience, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with a hybrid schedule and minimal in-office days in Raleigh.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 6 years of project management experience within a utility, engineering, construction, energy, or infrastructure environment.
• Experience managing projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage transmission capital projects from project authorization through construction and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk mitigation plans.
• Lead project teams comprised of Subject Matter Experts from various business units.
• Coordinate project activities across many stakeholders that include engineering, environmental, permitting, land services, construction, operations, outage planning teams, etc.
• Lead project team meetings and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Monitor project performance and drive resolution of scope, schedule, cost, and resource challenges.
• Support development of project estimates, business cases, and funding requests.
• Coordinate contractor and consultant activities throughout project execution.
• Ensure compliance with company safety requirements, engineering standards, environmental regulations, and regulatory commitments.
• Support transmission outage planning and coordination to minimize operational impacts during project execution.
• Identify/manage project risks and implement corrective actions to maintain project objectives.
• Review and approve project documentation, change requests, and contractor deliverables.
• Facilitate project closeout activities, including turnover to operations and lessons learned documentation.
