Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking a Class B Lineman to construct and repair transmission systems. The role requires working on energized and de-energized lines, traveling to different job sites as needed, and reporting to the Foreman.

The position emphasizes safety, with responsibilities including climbing structures, operating bucket trucks and rigging. Outages, storms, and emergency callouts are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of recent transmission line experience is required.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair energized and de-energized transmission systems with safety first.
• Install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators and conductors.
• Follow switching and tagging procedures and understand EPZ-grounding and induced voltage considerations.
• Climb structures using approved methods and equipment.
• Work at heights and near energized equipment with PPE in place.
• Operate and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners and pullers.
