Job summary

Pike Corporation in Florida is seeking an entry-level Class C Lineman Transmission to join our team supporting construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. This role works at various locations and may travel to another state based on customer demands.

You will learn live and de-energized line work, string wire, set poles, read blueprints, and perform safety-focused tasks in all weather.

Qualifications

• 1-year minimum of field experience.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willingness to glove/work live high voltage transmission lines.
• Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on energized and de-energized transmission work.
• String overhead wire.
• Set poles and anchors.
• Work with high voltage systems, requiring safety and care to protect lives.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Read basic blueprints and assist with inspecting structures.
• Work outside in inclement weather.
• Perform rigorous physical labor.
• Work from an aerial device when required.
• Assist with troubleshooting and tower erection.
• Assist in assembling and erecting structures at various heights.
