Job summary

River City Construction is seeking a Transmission Lineman 2nd Class for on-site work in Washington, NC. The role involves construction, maintenance and repair of transmission lines with potential state travel based on customer demands.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License and acceptable driving record
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to travel and work for extended periods in various locations.

Responsibilities

• Installs transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear
• Installing and maintaining transmission lines including new construction and maintenance
• Perform light distribution work and storm response tasks
• Running new wire and maintaining old wire
• Installing lines and performing repairs including energized work and pole/conductor installation
• Setting towers and poles
• Reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints
• Digging trenches and climbing poles and towers
• Troubleshooting and repairing systems as required
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools
• Contribute to Pre-Job Briefing and on-site safety communications
