Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC (5 Star) is seeking an Operator to support ground crews on overhead and underground power line construction and maintenance projects. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to handle tools and heavy materials.

You will progress through duties under supervision, report incidents, and follow company safety guidelines while traveling to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 Year of Prior Equipment operating experience In a related field.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State Driver License is required.
• Must obtain a Class A CDL with Medical Examiner’s Card
• Candidates must pass criminal and MVR background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Complete OSHA 10hr Safety Training Program within 60 days.
• Successful completion of appropriate knowledge and skills examinations.
• Compliance with Safety Performance Standards.

Responsibilities

• Passes tools to line crew or network crew members by acting as a general helper on the ground.
• Assists line crew with setting poles by shoveling or piking; fills anchor holes.
• Clears undergrowth from right-of-way by using hand tools or saws and cleans up job sites after completion.
• Positions reels of electric cable beside trenches and lays heavy URD cables in ditches and pads.
