Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a transmission line engineer to design high‑voltage lines (69kV–765kV) and perform structural and foundation analyses. The role involves modeling with PLS‑CADD, calculating conductor sag, and reviewing vendor submissions.

The position supports a hybrid work schedule with in‑office days. The ideal candidate has ABET/CEAB accreditation and strong MS Office, communication, and engineering design skills.

Qualifications

• Requires degree from a CEAB-accredited undergrad program or ABET-accredited program (Canada/US).
• Related engineering, internship or co-op experience expected.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE required.
• Knowledge of basic transmission line engineering and design principles.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.
• Perform structural analysis and design of poles, lattice, framed, and guyed structures.
• Perform foundation designs and conductor selection studies.
• Model transmission lines in PLS-CADD and determine right-of-way requirements.
• Review vendor submittals and develop cost estimates and schedules for materials and construction.
