Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group seeks a Design Engineer I in Overland Park, KS to support overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structure analysis, and loading trees. You will help develop design criteria and perform sag-tension calculations to ensure safe, reliable power delivery.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS is required. You will implement redlines, run voltage drop and pole loading analyses, prepare joint-use authorizations, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Knowledge of CAD tools: AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS.
• Familiarity with design codes: NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Support overhead transmission line design including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structure analysis and loading trees; develop design criteria and sag-tension calculations.
• Utilize CAD tools for scaled drawings and mapping; implement engineering redlines with precision.
• Conduct engineering calculations such as voltage drop, pole loading, and flutter analysis; prepare joint-use authorizations.
