Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group seeks a Design Engineer I to support overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling and line routing. You will assist with structure analyses, sag-tension calculations, and wire blowout checks, using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS.

You will ensure compliance with NESC/IEEE/ANSI/IBC, perform essential engineering calculations, and maintain detailed project documentation. Some travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Support overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling and line routing.
• Prepare structure analyses and loading trees, sag-tension calculations, and wire blowout checks.
• Use CAD software for scaled drawings and mapping.
• Apply engineering redlines with accuracy before drafting final drawings.
• Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop and pole loading assessments.
• Prepare joint use authorizations from field data and redlines.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC and local standards.
• Maintain project documentation and support calculations.
