Job summary

Georgia Power in Atlanta seeks an Engineer/Project Coordinator for Interconnections Planning Transmission. You will coordinate with internal teams to develop scopes for generator interconnection projects and ensure schedules and budgets meet criteria for FERC and reliability standards.

Travel up to 25% and relocation assistance may be available. Salary grade 03–06; advanced skills may qualify for higher grade. Prior experience with interconnection processes is preferred.

Qualifications

• Four (4) year B.S. Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology Degree preferred - Electrical desired or equivalent experience.
• Experience planning, design, operation, and maintenance processes for substations and transmission lines.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the transmission system, engineering principles, and budgeting/scheduling.
• Experience with the generator interconnection process preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define project scopes, timelines, and cost estimates for Transmission Planning related to interconnection requests.
• Prepare scopes for GSU and tie line with input from Generation Development, PMO, Transmission Design, and others.
• Coordinate budgeting of GSU station and gen tie line costs estimates with Estimating and Project Controls.
• Provide input on Interconnection Agreements per FERC guidelines and company compliance.
• Follow ITS Planning Guidelines and participate in related interconnection activities.
• Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and project teams.
• Respond to storms both within and outside the system as needed.
• Hold a valid Georgia Driver’s License for field visits.
