Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking an Interconnections Planning Engineer Project Coordinator in Atlanta, GA. The role coordinates with internal stakeholders to address generator interconnection requests and develop scopes for GSU transformers and gen tie lines up to the point of interconnection.

The position supports tracking existing Company Owned Generation projects toward in-service transmission connections, with relocation assistance available for eligible candidates. Travel up to 25% required.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent (Electrical preferred).
• Experience with planning, design, operation and maintenance of substations and transmission lines.
• Knowledge of transmission systems, engineering principles, and regulatory practices.
• Experience with generator interconnection processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define project scopes, timelines and cost estimates for Transmission Planning related to interconnection requests.
• Prepare scopes for GSU and tie line with inputs from multiple groups.
• Coordinate budgeting and cost estimates with Estimating and Project Controls.
• Provide input on Interconnection Agreements and related contracts per FERC guidelines.
• Follow ITS Planning Procedures and participate in interconnection activities.
• Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and project teams.
• Respond to storms as needed.
• Maintain valid GA driver's license for field visits.
