Job summary

Ohio Valley Electric Corporation is seeking a Field Services Specialist to support transmission maintenance, repair, and construction activities at the corporate location. You will coordinate with other departments, review field data, and advise on procedures and policies to improve operations and reduce costs.

Expected to align personal goals with OVEC/IKEC values. The role requires seven years of similar experience and a valid CDL; relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years similar work experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license.
• Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance and repair work of transmission lines, transmission and station structures and station equipment.
• Assist in coordinating contract labor to support maintenance activities.
• Inspect and supervise the construction of new facilities in Company-owned substations and in other such stations as the Company may operate.
• Consult with operating, maintenance and engineering personnel to incorporate design improvements where applicable to obtain better operation or reduce costs.
• Schedule and assist special testing and be familiar with special equipment and maintenance practices to ensure maximum capabilities and continuity of service.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of the testing of transmission line and substation equipment.
• Assist in the preparation of estimates for right-of-way maintenance and assist in the administration of maintenance contracts.
