Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Summer Internship in Denver, CO with our Transmission Engineering Services group. You will support data integrity, document control, and QA for substation and transmission design packages, while collaborating with field crews and engineers.

Ideal candidates are current students in ABET-accredited programs in science/tech, available full-time for summer (40h/week) or part-time during the school year (20h/week).

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements: current student, junior or higher (Fall 2027).
• Enrolled in ABET-accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Science or Tech (e.g., computer engineering, CS, MIS, data science, drafting, electric design).
• Able to work full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week) or part-time during school year (up to 20 hours/week) and commute to the designated Denver location per hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

• Interpret markups and update drawings and spreadsheets accurately.
• Collaborate with field crews and engineers to keep data complete and compliant.
• Update tracker progress regularly and manage drawings in ProjectWise.
• Learn document and data management workflows for design projects.
• Assist in process improvements.
