Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineering intern to support the Transmission and Substation Standards team. You will work with the Engineering staff on standards projects, assist with scope creation, knowledge transfer from subject matter experts, project management and document preparation.

The internship starts May 24, 2027 and may extend beyond the initial term based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• Current student, Sophomore or higher
• Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Engineering staff to support Standards projects.
• Work as an entry level engineering analyst doing tasks spanning all aspects of standards development including scope creation, knowledge transfer from subject matter experts, project management, and document preparation.
• Process review and maintenance.
