Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
• NERC Reliability Certification, or the ability to obtain it within 2 years, is required.
• Must be on the Clearance and Control list, or able to obtain authorization within 2 months.
• Ability to work rotating shifts is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate New England transmission system safely and reliably.
• Provide real-time analysis, monitoring, and control for the transmission system.
• Coordinate planned, forced, and emergency outages.
• Follow ISO-NE and National Grid emergency procedures.
• Maintain the health and accuracy of the EMS system.
• Train and develop new System Operators to maintain a skilled team.
• Maintain NERC Reliability Coordinator certification.
• Represent the New England Control Center on ISO-NE and company committees.
• Maintain relationships with EMS staff, ISO-NE, field crews, and neighboring utilities.
