Job summary

Lower Colorado River Authority is seeking a Transmission Construction Crew Lead to guide crews building critical infrastructure across Central Texas. You will supervise substation construction teams, lead daily tasks, monitor progress, and report status within project scope and schedule.

Travel to worksites is provided with accommodations. With 7+ years of high‑voltage experience, a related degree, and a valid Class A CDL, you will mentor crews and drive on‑site performance while benefiting from

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical or mechanical equipment installation, maintenance or repair in a high-voltage environment or transmission line installation, maintenance or repair.
  • A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial or mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Class A Texas commercial driver's license (CDL) required.

  • Independently lead small crews.
  • Coordinate daily tasks and ensure they are completed safely, correctly, and efficiently.
  • Actively support field supervisors with project oversight and recommendations.
  • Serve as Field Supervisor temporarily to support crew logistics and reporting.
  • Train crew members as needed and provide performance feedback to field supervisor.

Now hiring a Transmission Construction Crew Lead to help guide crews building the critical infrastructure of Central Texas! As a leader in our internal substation construction team, you will travel across Central Texas worksites (with travel accommodations provided) and assist with coordination and supervision of skilled substation construction teams: leading daily tasks, monitoring progress, and reporting status updates within project scope and schedule. How You'll Contribute

How You're Qualified
  • Seven or more years of experience in electrical or mechanical equipment installation, maintenance or repair in a high-voltage environment or transmission line installation, maintenance or repair.
  • A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial or mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Class A Texas commercial driver's license
How You'll Stand Out
  • Completion of Northwestern Lineman College training curriculum or other Journeyman level apprentice training in electric utility knowledge.
  • More than one year in a formal leadership role with direct reports.
  • Experience with project-based construction work in Electrical and Control skills.
