Job summary

LCRA is hiring a substation electrician to join our internal construction team for travel across Central Texas. Build critical substations, read blueprints, and install conduit and control cables while learning from skilled professionals.

You will operate heavy equipment, crane, and welding, with safety and quality as top priorities. CDL Class A preferred; driver's license required; experience reading blueprints helpful; travel accommodations provided.

Qualifications

• Zero or more years of experience in maintenance/construction of electrical power equipment and reading blueprints.
• Driver's license.
• Class A CDL.

How You'll Contribute

• Build electrical substations using construction skills and specialized tools.
• Read blueprints, consult manuals, parts lists and keep drawings and schematics up-to-date and accurate.
• Assist other teams as needed to complete project scopes.
• Be a part of a team that prioritizes safety and quality.

How You're Qualified

• Zero or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.
• Driver's license

How You'll Stand Out

• Hands-on substation construction skills such as operating heavy equipment, installing conduit/cable, constructing steel structures, crane operations, terminating conductors.
• Experience with project-based work.
• General understanding of safe electrical utility operations.
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
