Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 4+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience building production data pipelines (ETL/ELT) at scale.
• Very strong SQL—complex joins, window functions, performance tuning.
• Python for data engineering and data science.
• AWS experience: S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda, ECS and Fargate.
• Containerized service deployment with Docker and AWS CDK/CloudFormation, plus GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and own data products. Design, build, test, and maintain ETL/data normalization pipelines on Databricks and AWS.
• Unlock data access with governance partners to bring new sources under governance and make them AI-ready.
• Pursue business impact by engaging translational medicine stakeholders to translate questions into data maps.
• Translate business questions into data models and SQL mappings with clear caveats.
• Validate data with tests, reconciliations, and automated checks in CI/CD pipelines.
• Engineer for robustness with infrastructure as code, security, and monitoring in line with enterprise standards.
• Work with ML engineers to prepare feature-ready datasets and support ML/GenAI workloads.
• Collaborate in a GitHub-based environment with CI/CD pipelines.
• Drive continuous improvement as stakeholder needs evolve.
