Job summary

Henrico Doctors' Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Transitional Cardiac Unit on a 24-bed stepdown unit. You will work with a typical 1:4 patient ratio, providing high-acuity care for cardiac and medical patients and supporting telemetry and patient monitoring.

You will administer medications, interpret telemetry, document patient conditions in the EMR, and coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret telemetry strips and identify/respond to cardiac rhythms.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN), on our Transitional Cardiac Unit you will support our 24-bed stepdown unit with a typical 1:4 patient ratio. Our unit provides high acuity level of care to a wide variety of cardiac and medical patients. You will also provide clinical and administrative support on the unit for patients including arrythmia management, chest pain, sepsis, post-surgical VATS, post- radial caths, management of high flow and bipap devices, etc.

What you will do in this role
  • As a member of TCU you will administer all prescribed medications utilizing the 5 rights to medication administration, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.

  • You will interpret telemetry monitoring strips, appropriately identifies cardiac rhythms and interventions to treat and care for dysrhythmias.

  • Our nursing team monitors, records and communicates patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.

  • You will serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, including patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What qualifications you will need
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Licensed a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
