Job summary

Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Transitional Cardiac Unit. You will support our 24-bed stepdown unit with a 1:4 patient ratio, delivering high-acuity care for cardiac and medical patients and assisting with clinical and administrative tasks on the unit.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, Virginia RN license or compact license, and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or has a Compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications utilizing the 5 rights to medication administration, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Interpret telemetry monitoring strips, identify cardiac rhythms and interventions to treat dysrhythmias.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions using computerized documentation systems.
• Coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team and ensure well-coordinated patient care.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN), on our Transitional Cardiac Unit you will support our 24-bed stepdown unit with a typical 1:4 patient ratio. Our unit provides high acuity level of care to a wide variety of cardiac and medical patients. You will also provide clinical and administrative support on the unit for patients including arrythmia management, chest pain, sepsis, post-surgical VATS, post- radial caths, management of high flow and bipap devices, etc.

What you will do in this role:

• As a member of TCU you will administer all prescribed medications utilizing the 5 rights to medication administration, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• You will interpret telemetry monitoring strips, appropriately identifies cardiac rhythms and interventions to treat and care for dysrhythmias.
• Our nursing team monitors, records and communicates patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• You will serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, including patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Licensed a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
