Job summary

Qualifications

• Minnesota teaching license in a special education field is required.
• Minnesota Teacher/Coordinator of Work-Based Learning license required.
• Experience teaching multi-categorical groups of students with disabilities.
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of due process procedures.
• Knowledge of career and technical education opportunities for students.
• Experience with community-based agencies and Vocational Rehabilitation referrals.
• Knowledge of The Minnesota Olmstead Plan and related workforce policies.
• Training in person-centered practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Conflict resolution experience.
• Behavior management and crisis response experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach Work-Based Learning Seminar Courses and assist students with IEP goals.
• Coordinate On-the-Job Training opportunities on- and off-campus.
• Maintain Work-Based Learning documentation and records.
• Foster partnerships with vocational rehabilitation services and Pre-ETS programs.
• Coordinate career exploration activities and work-based opportunities with local businesses.
• Identify and address barriers to employment for students.
• Supervise and direct job coach paraprofessionals.
• Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with case managers to set vocational goals.
• Collaborate with school staff to identify students needing support.
• Advocate for students with disabilities and disadvantaged learners.
• Implement behavioral interventions and monitor student progress.
