Job summary

Transit Authority of River City (TARC) in Louisville, KY, is seeking a supervisor to lead training and dispatch operations. You will plan, assign, and evaluate staff, coordinate emergency runs, manage payroll-related tasks, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance to deliver reliable service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) years of training and dispatch experience in a transit-related field.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Kentucky or Indiana Commercial Class B Driver's License with a passenger and air brakes endorsements within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, assigns, and supervises the staff, operations, and activities of an assigned administrative function of training and dispatch.
• Schedules, assigns work and assigns coaches and operators for emergency runs.
• Manages staffing, attendance, disciplinary actions, and pay sheets.
• Relays information between coaches to coordinate customer pick-ups.
• Ensures employees have proper supplies to perform their jobs.
• Reviews accident and incident reports for accuracy and completeness; summarizes in the logbook.
• Marks out buses by matching available buses and routes to be run.
• Responds to operator radio calls.
• Performs administrative functions such as answering phones, processing mail, developing forms, and communicating shift information.
