Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) invites a Summer College Intern to join the Office of Strategy and Policy. This preparatory program offers hands-on transit industry experience, exposure to strategy development, and opportunities to work on high-priority assignments alongside senior leaders.

You will rotate through departments related to operations, planning, IT, and general business functions, gain practical skills in data analysis, reporting, and presentation, and

Qualifications

• Attending an accredited college or university pursuing a degree aligned with the position.
• Must have completed freshman year and be entering sophomore year.
• Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA.
• Summer internship up to 13 weeks; favorable performance in prior summer if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, reviews, and analyzes data and inputs for reports.
• Researches data for management, operations, technical, and administrative reports.
• Produces presentations, reports, and data visuals for assigned department.
• Reviews reports and identifies problems, recommending solutions.
• Participates in trainings and attends meetings to gain exposure to transit functions.
• Leads departmental meetings when assigned.
