Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Government Relations Office offers a summer internship for students with a policy background and an interest in promoting transit. The intern must be an effective writer capable of supporting multiple government relations projects.

This preparatory program provides hands-on transit industry experience across departments and rotations based on the intern's major, supervised by a senior executive or designee.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and enrollment in an accredited college or university.
• Freshman year completed and sophomore year planned.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.

Responsabilités

• Compile, review and analyze data for reports.
• Assist in preparing management, operations, technical and administrative reports.
• Produce presentations, reports, and data visuals for assigned projects.
• Review reports and identify problems; propose solutions under guidance.
• Attend training sessions and department meetings to gain exposure to transit functions.
