Job summary

VINCI Construction Grands Projets USA is hiring an Assistant Project Manager (Stations) for the Walsh-VINCI Transit Community Partners JV in Chicago. You will oversee the safe, timely delivery of new RLE stations, manage procurement for steel packages, and coordinate interfaces across guideway, civil, track, and systems works.

You will liaise with field teams, review submittals and schedules, lead safety analyses, and ensure quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of construction engineering experience on contractor’s side on building or heavy civil construction projects.
• Experience with developing means and methods for construction activities.
• Experience with cost control on self-delivered construction scope.
• Experience with scheduling construction works, using common software such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiar with CAD tools for construction planning purposes (means and methods).
• Experience analyzing technical documents, including design drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for a large construction project.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and best practices.
• Fluent in English and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Analyze scope of works on project drawings and specifications; schedule works accordingly.
• Prepare and manage procurement packages for self-delivered scope; coordinate with suppliers; review shop drawings.
• Prepare construction documentation for scope activities.
• Brief construction teams on scope, means and methods, schedule and safety analysis.
• Coordinate with other project teams to manage interfaces and avoid delays.
• Coordinate activities between subcontractors to drive schedule and maintain safety.
• Review subcontractor documentation including submittals, schedules, and progress reports.
• Prepare and update schedule for scope construction; track progress and report variances.
• Cost control for self-delivered activities; progress control for subcontractors.
• Drive and monitor quality documentation; daily field reviews with project crews.
• Manage RFIs and NCRs with field, design, and quality teams.
• Maintain site records and logs of quantities, productivity, and lessons learned.
