Job summary

Transdev in Sussex County is hiring a Road Supervisor to oversee daily routes, ensure safety, and supervise drivers. The role emphasizes on-site operations, scheduling, and reporting to local management.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, a CDL with passenger and airbrake endorsements, 5+ years of related experience, and strong computer skills. A DOT drug test may be required; the position includes a $1000 sign-on bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of related work experience.
• Valid CDL with passenger and airbrake endorsements.
• Supervisory experience with hourly employees; 2-3 years transit supervisory experience preferred.
• Computer literate – basic knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules.
• DOT drug testing and physical where applicable per DOT 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
• Day-to-day scheduling, counseling, and submitting evaluation reports to local management.
• Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers with accident reports and safety documents.
• Develop and host driver training and safety courses; retrain drivers involved in accidents.
• Observe drivers on the road and correct safety problems on site while documenting violations.
• Liaise between drivers, customers, and organization on safety concerns.
• Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance per policy matters.
• Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance – drug testing and recordkeeping.
• Drive routes periodically.
