Job summary

Transdev in San Jose, CA is seeking a Road Supervisor to ensure all routes are completed safely and on time. You will oversee driver performance, coordinate daily schedules, and report to local management.

The role emphasizes safety, DOT compliance, and strong customer service skills to support on-time transit operations. Candidates should have a valid driver's license and prior supervisory experience in a transit or transportation environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 years of driving experience with valid license.
• Supervisory experience with hourly staff.
• Computer literate: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Able to work shifts or flexible schedules.
• DOT drug testing & safety regulations applicable.

Responsibilities

• Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
• Day-to-day scheduling, counseling, and submitting evaluation reports to local management.
• Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports and safety violations documents.
• Develop and host driver training and safety courses; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in accidents.
• Observe drivers on the road - correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations.
• Liaison between drivers and customers and organization on customer service concerns.
• Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with legal, employment and labor policy matters.
• Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance - drug testing and recordkeeping.
• Drive routes periodically.
• Other duties as required.
