Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Transit/Rail Engineering Intern in Charlotte, NC for an immersive hybrid internship with at least 3 office days per week.

The role targets undergrad and grad candidates, with a preference for a minimum 3-month engagement and potential for full-time hours. Responsibilities include using Microstation and AutoCAD for rail alignments and drainage, supporting diverse design projects, and helping prepare construction documents.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• ABET-accredited program or NCEES equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use Microstation and AutoCAD to assist in rail alignments, drainage, grading and infrastructure.
• Support planning, design and construction projects.
• Help develop construction documents, drawings and specifications.
• Prepare technical design reports, calculations and memos.
• Conduct periodic field inspections.
• Research to support design solutions.
