Job summary

The Charlotte Area Transit System is seeking an Industrial Controls Technician I to support installation, maintenance, and operation of operational technology and control systems across vehicles, facilities, and transit infrastructure.

This role involves working with SCADA platforms, field controllers, monitoring devices, and communications equipment, collaborating with admins, engineers, and operations staff to ensure 24/7 transit reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electronics, industrial tech, IT, or related field.
• Experience with electronic equipment, control systems, or field tech environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, setup, replacement, and maintenance of OT equipment and control devices.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned systems and equipment.
• Support Bus and Rail hardware (IVLUs, APC sensors, fareboxes, MDTs).
• Install and connect hardware components including controllers, cameras, access devices, sensors, and related infrastructure.
