The Industrial Controls Technician I at City of Charlotte supports installation, maintenance, and operation of OT and control systems used by CATS. You will work on SCADA platforms, field controllers, and related tech in a 24/7 transit environment.

Initially employed by CATS, a City department, you will transition to the Metropolitan Public Transit Authority (MPTA) on January 1, 2027, with benefits aligned to City provisions through 2026 and MPTA provisions in 2027.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics, industrial technology, information technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with field technology environments and basic diagnostics is preferred.
• Knowledge of SCADA or OT systems is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Assist with installation, setup, replacement, and maintenance of OT equipment and control devices.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment.
• Support hardware for buses, rails, and related infrastructure.
• Install and connect controllers, cameras, access devices, sensors, and communication gear.
• Verify system functionality after maintenance and coordinate with teams to restore service.
