Job summary

Chapel Hill Transit in Chapel Hill, NC, is seeking energetic operators to safely drive fixed routes and serve riders with courtesy. Training is provided and a competitive benefits package is offered. A $2,500 sign-on bonus applies with terms and conditions, and candidates must meet safety and attendance goals.

The role requires a minimum of one year of driving experience and possession of or the ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement. Weekend and holiday work is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of driving experience.
• Possession of or the ability to obtain Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local traffic and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate transit vehicles on routes per schedule and maintain a courteous manner.
• Provide information on bus services to customers.
• Respond to radio messages and maintain safety during operations.
• Work variable shifts including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Prepare and complete required reports and forms concerning incidents or accidents.
