Job summary

The City of Huntsville's Public Transit Department seeks a Transit Operations Supervisor to lead bus operators, dispatchers, and paratransit staff.

Responsibilities include coaching for on-time service, directing daily routes, ensuring policy compliance, and providing escalation for customer issues. A high school diploma or GED and five years of transit-related supervisory experience are required; Class D license and Class B CDL with P endorsement within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five years' experience in public transit roles or supervising experience.
• Valid Class D driver's license; Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Coach and direct bus operators, paratransit operators, and dispatchers to ensure safe, on-time service.
• Coordinate daily routes and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.
• Escalate and resolve difficult customer issues and enforce policies and procedures.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on service standards and safety.
