Job summary

The City of Harrisonburg is seeking a Transit Supervisor (Day Shift) to lead bus operators and support the Transit division in planning and scheduling services. This full-time, non-exempt role comes with benefits and a targeted hourly range of $26.67–$29.34.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of experience in bus operations and customer service, plus a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a CDL by training end.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1–3 years bus operation and customer service experience.
• Valid driver's license; ability to obtain CDL by end of training.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday 6:00am–3:00pm with possible extra days.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bus operators and assist in Transit division operations.
• Plan and schedule rotating staff and routes.
• Operate transit vehicles safely and train less experienced operators.
• Maintain records and prepare reports.
