Job summary

Strong communication with dispatch and CARTA personnel is essential. Ideal candidates will have a Class B CDL with a Passenger endorsement, a valid DOT medical card, and the ability to handle stressful situations

Qualifications

• CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement and clean driving record.
• Valid DOT medical examination card.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to safely operate a large vehicle in varying traffic and weather conditions.
• Familiarity with two-way radio communication procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a bus on an assigned route while adhering to schedules and safety regulations.
• Monitor fare collection using the fare box.
• Answer passenger inquiries regarding routes and CARTA services.
• Assist disabled and elderly passengers with boarding and exiting as needed.
• Prepare detailed reports regarding incidents and mechanical issues.
• Maintain courteous, professional demeanor with passengers and the public.
