Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three to five years of automotive mechanic experience.
• State Inspector license within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs state inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on transit vehicles.
• Diagnoses complex computer systems on buses and repairs related components.
• Responds to road calls and after-hours emergencies as on-call mechanic.
• Maintains shop safety and regulatory compliance for hazardous waste and PPE.
• Trains new staff and assists with equipment operation.
• Keeps repair and service records and uses diagnostic tools.
