Job summary

A regional public transport authority in Hampton, Virginia is seeking a Mechanic 1 to maintain and repair its fleet. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in heavy-duty mechanical work, a high school diploma (trade school preferred), and a willingness to obtain a CDL Class B license. Qualifications

• 5 years of heavy-duty mechanical experience or equivalent.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems.
• Must have CDL Class B license and EPA Section 609 Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all HRT vehicles as necessary.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Interact courteously with other departments regarding repairs.
