Job summary

Keolis Commuter Services in Woodbridge, VA seeks a Mechanic - Tech A to diagnose and repair heavy transit coaches, perform preventive maintenance, and support ADA equipment systems. A 3,000 sign-on bonus is offered and training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Two (2) years technical degree or equivalent experience
• Three (3) to Five (5) years progressive heavy equipment maintenance experience
• ASE Transit Certifications preferred
• Experience with heavy equipment
• Ability to understand ADA equipment and complex systems
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
• Clean driving record and CDL may be required

Responsibilities

• Detect, diagnose and repair coaches, focusing on major complex problems
• Perform in-house and road coach repairs using diverse tools
• Upgrade or modify coach systems per manufacturer recommendations
• Use diagnostic equipment (Cummins Insite, Allison prognostics, electrical schematics) to troubleshoot electrical functions
• Maintain detailed work orders and report parts usage and costs
• Provide on‑the‑job instruction to junior mechanics
• Inspect and evaluate work performance and mentor teammates
• Ensure safety compliance and adherence to DOT regulations
